Been hearing about this band for the last two years. And I only cared to listen to them a couple of weeks ago. I was such a dumb ass! I was missing out on so much!

They're fucking awesome! I've forgotten every other band after I listened to PT. They are a prodigy! The sad part is that they're not as popular as they should've been.

But they're really not thrilling enough make me forget my favourite bands. Show me some more songs which have more energy in performance and music than just in the melodic ingenuity.

Listen to Blackest Eyes, Shallow, Lazarus, Halo, Trains, Open Car, Start of Something Beautiful, Sound of Muzak, Fear of a Blank Planet, Arriving Somewhere But Nowhere, Shesmovedon, Radioactive Toy.....

I haven't discovered them altogether yet...but I've loved all that I've heard....they're beautiful....they're classified as Progressive Rock.

Here in India I've learnt that most people who appreciate Porcupine Tree are all musicians...for instance their drummer, Gavin Harrsion, is just brilliant. A lot of people compare him to Neal Peart. One of the most beautiful and complicated drums part is from the song "Sound of Muzak". Nobody I know of has been able to cover this song ever, only because of the drums. Some do, but it's not perfect.

I saw posters of them because they had a gig but I found it odd because I saw the posters everywhere but I didn't knew them. :O But they are pretty famous, aren't they?

Not as famous as they should have been. They deserve a lot, but most people really don't appreciate their music. They are not really mainstream. Good music has been overshadowed by bubble gum pop and hip hop and mainstream shit. I am sorry to say, but now it feels like even Linkin Park is trying to be more mainstream and popular than being pure musicians. Getting bored of Linkin Park and moving on to other artists, I discovered artists that are way better than them. Hybrid Theory and Meteora are still better than Minutes to Midnight. MTM is just plain boring.
